Oven cleaning in Chingford goes per appliance. A single oven is £77, a double £110 and a 90cm range £143. The racks and trays come out and soak while the cavity is done by hand in your kitchen, and you can cook in it the same evening.
| Appliance | Price |
|---|---|
| Single oven | £77 |
| Double oven | £110 |
| Range cooker, 90cm | £143 |
A hob done on the same visit is £23 for ceramic or £28 for gas, and an extractor is £28. The minimum charge on one off work is £67, which a single oven clears on its own.
Taking the oven apart
Racks, shelves, trays and the fan cover come out first and go into a long soak, which loosens carbon that scrubbing alone will not shift. Some of our teams carry a heated tank on the van and use it when they can park close to the house; otherwise the parts soak in your kitchen. The price is the same either way, so ask when you book if it matters to you. Meanwhile the cavity gets a gel that sits on the burnt-on deposits and comes off with a blade and a pad. Where the door is built to come apart, we split it so the inside faces of both panes get cleaned, which is the part people can see and the part a wipe never reaches. Glass gets dried by hand rather than left to air, because the water here is hard enough to bloom on anything you let dry itself.
Chingford kitchens, and what we normally find in them
Two patterns, and they follow the housing. The larger houses along Bury Road and Forest Side have nearly all had the back of the kitchen opened out at some point, and a 90cm range went in with the extension, usually with five burners and a canopy over it. Those are the £143 jobs and they take a while, particularly if the burner caps have been through a dishwasher and come out looking worse than they went in. Down on the 1950s estates in South Chingford it is far more often a single oven under a four-ring hob in the original kitchen footprint, which is a straightforward £77 and about two hours.
Parking is not the problem it is elsewhere
Most of E4 has a driveway or a side gate. We park on the drive and nobody is watching a clock. That sounds like a small thing. On a flat round in inner London the job runs off a loading bay with forty minutes on the meter, and the work gets rushed to fit the ticket, which is how you end up with a clean oven and a filthy door seal.
How long it takes
Two hours on a single that has done a year of ordinary family cooking. Three on a double. A range with a canopy extractor can run to four. If the oven has been left since the last tenant moved out, add an hour, and expect us to say so on arrival rather than at the end.
Looking the oven over first
We check the door glass, the seal and the enamel on the base before any gel goes on, so you know which marks are grease and which are wear from years of use. If your oven has pyrolytic liners, those rough grey panels down the sides, we clean around them rather than treating them, because they are designed to burn deposits off themselves and chemicals ruin the coating. We tell you which of these you have got before we quote, not after.
Booking an oven with other work
Tenants often tack an oven onto a move-out clean, which brings it down to £31, since the door glass is one of the first things a check-out clerk opens. If we come to you every week or fortnight, the oven is still a separate job, because it needs different kit and it takes the cleaner off the rest of the house for half a visit. Both prices are on the list. We do a lot of ovens in Highams Park, ten minutes down the road, and the rest of what we cover is on the front page.
Questions we get asked
How much is oven cleaning in Chingford?
£77 for a single oven, £110 for a double and £143 for a 90cm range cooker. A hob on the same visit adds £23 for ceramic or £28 for gas, and an extractor adds £28.
Can I use the oven straight after you have finished?
Yes. The products are rinsed off and the cavity is dried before we put the racks back, so you can cook in it that evening. There is no waiting period. Leave a window open the first time it heats up and any smell soon clears.
Do the racks leave the house?
Usually they stay in your kitchen. They come out of the oven at the start and soak for about forty minutes while we work on the cavity, then get scrubbed, rinsed and dried before going back in. We wipe the worktop and the floor in front of the oven before we leave.
Do you clean self-cleaning ovens with liners?
We clean around pyrolytic liners rather than treating them. Those grey panels burn deposits off at high temperature and oven chemicals wreck the coating, so anyone who offers to scrub them is costing you a liner.
How long does a range cooker take?
Three to four hours for a 90cm range, longer if there is a canopy extractor over it with filters that have not been touched. A single oven is about two hours and a double about three.
